It’s been awhile, hasn’t it? For those who don’t know, I’ve recently transitioned my email list BACK to Flodesk for the time being. I found that having two email lists was more confusing than it was helpful for me (I tend to divide things up thinking it will help, but then it just makes everything overwhelming instead!)
So, if you enjoy hearing from me, feel free to hop on over and subscribe for my monthly newsletter. You can even choose exactly what sort of news you wish to tune in for!
Last week, I celebrated my first full year of being a published author. The first full year of A Daisy in Lily’s Valley being out in the world. The first full year of me being out in the world.
A lot of firsts, here.
In the past 365 days, I have participated in a little over a half dozen author-specific events and signings. I have watched people add my book to their “Want to Read” stack on Goodreads. I’ve talked to countless fellow book lovers about the joy found in the written word and in stories and places that transport us from our own. I’ve sold/ gifted nearly half of the 500 books I originally ordered, which means I have signed my author name at least as many times. And I’ve begun taking the very early, tentative steps into writing a second novel, stumbling all along the way.
It’s been a wild and amazing ride, and I honestly couldn’t have done it without you. Without your support and your cheerleading and your bolstering of my confidence whenever I felt myself waver (which has been a lot!).
So, to celebrate this one year mark of my very first novel I’m offering a GIVEAWAY! Just as a little sign of my appreciation and thanks for sticking with me on this journey to becoming an author. One that has been a dream of mine since I was hiding under the blankets, giggling about made-up worlds at sleepovers with my cousin. One that I tucked away for nearly 15 years before finding it hidden away in the closet covered in dust.
I will be giving away one signed copy and two digital copies of my novel. Interested in entering? Simply respond to this email or leave a comment by APRIL 1st, and you will be entered. Still not sure if this novel is right for you? I've added a little preview of the first chapter to my website which you can check out below:
Other ways to show your support
Looking for ways to support me as a new author that don't cost a thing? Here are a few ideas, any of which would mean the absolute world to me!
- Have you already read the book? Leaving a review on Goodreads, Storygraph, or Fable goes a long way! It helps other readers discover my work and see if it is right for them.
- Want to read it eventually, but not right away? Add ADILV to your want to read bookshelf on Goodreads, Storygraph, or Fable
- Ask your local library or favorite bookshop if they could carry the book. If enough people request it, they just might reach out for some copies, saving you on all the shipping costs!
- Tag me on social media @untitledthoughts @authorbafranc. I may not be active there, but tagging me in a post about my book helps spread the wordto others who might enjoy it.
- Never underestimate the power of simple word of mouth. Tell your favorite people over the phone, in person, or shoot them an email letting them know you're interested in my stories and they might be, too! You never know. Maybe they will snag it for you as a gift or a buddy read-along :)
-Part of a bookclub? Feel free to reach out directly to me. I offer discounts and can ship multiple books for your club so that you save on shipping for everyone!
